Syon Park’s magnificent Great Conservatory was designed in the 19th Century by Charles Fowler. This painting, measuring 31cm x 41cm, shows the enormous vine that snakes around part of the building. It was a challenge to draw because of the perspective and architectural detail, as you can see from the pencil sketch below.
