About the classes
From dancing, light-filled passages to richly-coloured darks, and from cascading wet washes to staccato dry brush effects, watercolour can produce painting effects no other medium can match. This course will give you the confidence to handle this hypnotic, addictive medium and produce paintings with transparency and glow! We will work on subject matter ranging from still life to landscapes. I also teach drawing skills during the class, which can greatly improve the composition of your paintings.
Dates and times
Classes are on Tuesdays from 1.30-4.30pm and Wednesdays from 10am-1pm. The autumn term runs from 10 Sept-04 Dec, with a half-term break from 22-26 Oct. Lessons are held at Hanwell Community Centre (Westcott Crescent, London W7 1PD. You can get there on the E11, E1 or E3 bus, or take a train to Castlebar Park. There are also bike racks and a free car park at the centre). There is no lift at the community centre and there are two flights of stairs to climb to the art room so please bear this in mind if you have mobility problems.
Each term costs £240 per student. Please bring your own pencils, brushes, paint, masking fluid and paper (I can send you a list of materials I recommend).
